Top Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin – who had become notorious for her bombastic and blatantly false press statements – <a href="https://www.npr.org/2026/02/17/g-s1-110410/homeland-security-department-mclaughlin-departure">left her role last month</a>.
