<p>Singer says song is in response to ‘state terror’ visiting city, painting image of unrest due to ‘King Trump’s private army’</p><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/music/springsteen">Bruce Springsteen</a> has released a new song dedicated to Minnesota’s largest city as a response to “the state terror being visited on the city of <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/minneapolis">Minneapolis</a>” and the <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/minnesota-ice-shooting">recent killings</a> of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ice-us-immigration-and-customs-enforcement">ICE</a> agents in the city.</p><p>In a <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/brucespringsteen.net/post/3mdiqtpf5qk2e">message</a> shared on social media, Springsteen explained: “I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
