<p>Ross Cadell, Bridget McKenzie and Susan McDonald breached shadow cabinet solidarity rules, challenging authority of Ley and Nationals leader David Littleproud</p><p>Nationals frontbenchers Ross Cadell and Bridget McKenzie say the opposition leader, Sussan Ley, must decide their futures in shadow cabinet, after they crossed the floor to vote against <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2026/jan/20/labor-albanese-hate-speech-laws-expected-pass-parliament">Labor’s hate speech bill</a>.</p><p>The pair, along with the shadow resources minister, Susan McDonald, voted against the Coalition’s position on the contentious legislation, a breach of shadow cabinet solidarity rules.
